Co «100% Life» experts learned the experience of introducing laboratory system in US
The purpose of the visit to the Florida Public Health Department, which took place from December 10-14, 2018, was to study the experience of introducing laboratory systems in the United States with a focus on diagnosis and epidemiological surveillance of HIV, viral hepatitis and STIs.
The Ukrainian delegation was represented by CO «100% Life» experts working on the implementation of the laboratory component of the MIS HIV system within the ACCESS Pro project, as well as specialists from the Public Health Center and CDC Ukraine.
Special attention was paid to the organization of public health laboratories and the functioning of laboratory information system that provides tools for accounting, analysis and data management. In addition, delegates were given the opportunity to observe the work of the laboratory and equipment involved in the analysis process.
As Oksana Kyrychok, head of the analytical department at CO «100%Life», said: «This visit was especially important to us as we were given the opportunity to chat with colleagues who for many years have been setting high standards for the introduction of laboratory information systems, the development of which is now one of the priorities for our department. We were also able to personally see how the Department of Health and the network of local non-governmental organizations are working together to overcome socially dangerous diseases. The experience gained by Ukrainian specialists will help improve medical information systems, enhance the efficiency of laboratory staff, modernize the procedures and quality of analysis, as well as reduce related costs.
