SBU closed the case against “NETWORK”

After a series of requests the Network submitted to law enforcement agencies, we received official responses from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (PGO of Ukraine) which included the information that the second and the third criminal cases initiated against the Network’s officials were closed.

We would like to remind that throughout the past year the Network was under the constant and watchful eye of the law enforcement agencies. We repeatedly wrote about searches, interrogations, and seizure of documents.

According to the results of the pre-trial investigation, on November 14, 2017, the PGO of Ukraine made a decision to close one of the criminal cases for the absence of criminal elements in the actions of the Network’s officials.

One more criminal case, which was in the jurisdiction of the Chief Investigative Department of the SBU and initiated against the representatives of the Network for alleged facts of funding the LNR and DNR terrorist organizations by means of the withdrawal of the Global Fund’s grant funds to the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, was closed on 29 December 2017, as well as the previous case, for the absence of criminal elements in the actions of the Network’s officials.

“Criminal cases against us and all persecution are signs that we have stepped on the tail of the great dragon,” emphasized Dmytro Sherembey, the head of the Network’s Coordination Council. “But, despite all the attacks of the enemies, we remind that we are stubborn, and they do not stop us!”

There is still a criminal case number 12015100000000887 which was initiated in 2015 in connection with the abuse of authority by officials of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Ukrainian Centre for Socially Dangerous Disease Control of the MoH of Ukraine, ICF “Alliance for Public Health,” and the Network. We also wrote a request on this case to the corresponding authorities, and we are waiting for an official answer.
